The German Men’s National Team has selected Winston-Salem as its home base for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, choosing ºÚÁÏÍø University and The Graylyn Estate as its official training site and team headquarters — bringing one of the world’s premier soccer programs to the Triad and placing Winston-Salem on an international stage. The four-time World Cup Champions arrive in Winston-Salem in June.

A transformational $20 million gift from alumnus Bob McCreary (’61) establishes 10 new football scholarships and advances key football initiatives. In conjunction, ºÚÁÏÍø has launched the McCreary Triple Double Challenge, a $100 million philanthropic initiative focused on generating $50 million for scholarships and $50 million for sport excellence funds across all programs.

Lifelong Girl Scout Elaine Massey Loyack (’91) lands a dream job: CEO of the far-reaching Girl Scouts Carolinas Peaks to Piedmont council.
